Capturing Moments Worldwide

Welcome to the incredible world of remote photography, where I can transcend geographical boundaries to capture authentic moments wherever you are. Through a specialised app, I can access your camera, art directing your shoot while you remain the subject. Despite the distance, I create images that are true to life, evoking genuine emotions and preserving memories in stunning detail.

How does a remote shoot work?

The process is so easy, you just need a smart phone and internet connection! After scheduling in a remote session, I provide a link to our private, encrypted virtual room within the app. Through this app, I guide you to stand in the right place and position your phone for capturing images. We shoot in RAW format, granting me more creative freedom during post-processing. Following the shoot, I download, edit, and share the images in a downloadable gallery for your enjoyment.

Who can book a remote shoot?

Remote photography is accessible to anyone, regardless of location, as long as you have internet access and a camera phone. It’s great for:

  • Couples

  • Pregnancy

  • Family and newborn sessions

  • Motherhood

  • At-home sessions

  • Personal Branding

  • People living in rural locations, who may live a long way from a photographer, gaining instant access to a photographer rather than getting one to travel to you.

 FAQs

  • Remote photoshoots are accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world. You just need internet and preferably a newer model of iPhone or smart phone. It works best if you also get a friend or partner to hold the phone for you, but this is optional.

  • The quality of remote photography is remarkably high. Clients often express disbelief that these images originate from phone cameras. Factors influencing quality include having a newer phone model and shooting in bright light, with natural light from a window being a preferred choice. The end results often have a "filmy" appearance, which I strive to emulate in my editing.

  • You'll be surprised by the potential print sizes. The maximum size depends on various factors, but many photographs can be printed up to 30cm on the long edge, while others can be as large as 100cm. The high quality and resolution make them ideal for enlargements.

  • To participate in a remote session, you'll need a phone with sufficient storage space and a fully charged battery. Ideally, you should have the Clos app, but an alternative app can be used if you don't have an iPhone. An internet connection is essential. For a more diverse gallery, having someone else present at your location can be helpful, especially if they can move the phone as I direct. However, if that's not possible, a tripod or creative solutions like attaching your phone to a stable object can work just as well.

  • The ideal time of day for your session will depend on your location, the local lighting conditions, and our discussion.

  • Yes, I meticulously plan remote sessions to guide you effectively, ensuring a streamlined process for stunning results.

  • Anywhere from 60 - 80 (or more!) images. If you have someone to help hold the phone on the day then you will end up with more.

  • The beauty of a remote photoshoot is that you can be anywhere you choose, however I find my favourite images come straight from your home where you can be the most comfortable, having a bath with bub, or cuddling and feeding a newborn on your bed. For remote branding sessions, I can help you to choose the best location for your shoot.

  • "Time is fleeting and you captured us perfectly, from afar (remotely), which is truly wild. Your ability to build connection, see the space and light with an artistic eye all the while instructing us how to position the angles through the phone was surprisingly ever so effortless and easy."
