About Louise Agnew Photography

Hi! I'm Louise Agnew, an award-winning family photographer, hailing from the picturesque town of Millicent in South Australia.

Digital and film photographer on Bunganditj country. Remote photographer worldwide.

hey nice to meet you!

About Me

Beyond my lens, I'm Lou – a lover of coffee, pilates and a salty marg, a seeker of personal growth, and a strong believer in introspection.

A wife to husband Tom, busy mum to three kids, three dogs, and a clutch of chooks, life around me is a vibrant symphony of chaos. Never a dull moment in our home - it’s noisy… we love to crank the tunes! I strive to let my kids be kids, embracing their uniqueness as their best qualities.

My journey began in Psychology and Social Work, which extended on my fascination with human connections, neuroscience and emotion.

My passion lays in capturing an authentic representation of the human experience. My previous role as a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist afforded me to witness the love and attachments people have to each other. I wanted to visually document this for people, so I decided to take the leap and embarked on my full-time career as a photographer and artist. Photography became my calling, a realm where emotions are distilled into visual stories.

going with the flow since the 80's

My Philosophy

My approach to photography mirrors my approach to life – I dive in deep, talk a bit too much, give plenty of hugs, and share lots of belly laughs. I want to create photographs that are beautiful AND truthful. I’ll offer some direction to help capture your best angles, work with the light and surrounds, and then just go with the flow. My hope is to create images that feel nostalgic and bring about memories that are true to YOU many years from now.

“At the core, I’m not interested in manufacturing fraudulent images, because there is already so much beauty in your reality.”

Photography that makes contact with life.

I love to document the authenticity of life as it unfolds before me. Truthful moments that will ilicit comforting and nostalgic reflections in years to come. I’ll make sure you’re ridiculously good looking in the process too.

Being photographed authentically yields the goods if a family or couple can drop their shoulders and let the kids be wild. Not everyone can, so please be reassured that I’ll support wherever you’re at. As a huge empath, I can generally sense how a family wants to “show up”, and that often lands me in the middle. And that’s okay too. I adapt my shoots to fit your personality, not mine.

I honestly grow attached to the stories I’ve captured, and feel like a proud little kid as I hand over my huge-ass galleries for you to soak in. The best part of my job is knowing my photographs have been felt and loved as much as I have put in to creating them.

  • We were made to feel so comfortable and the moments captured were so natural, real and true. I don't know how many times l've looked at the images with an ear to ear smile and full cup.

My location

Don’t be surprised by my dusty car - I live on a dirt road just outside of a small town called Millicent in South Australia. The main areas I travel to are Mt Gambier, Port Macdonnell, Robe, Beachport, Penola, Coonawarra, Naracoorte, Nelson and occasionally I’ll shoot weekends in Adelaide. Some of these locations incur a small fee and I can provide travel costs in your quote. I have favourite spots to shoot in our gorgeous region, but will always choose your family home as my first choice if you’re up for it!
